Instructor Biography

Azhar Abd Jamil lectures at the Postgraduate Department and Department of Graphic Design & Digital Media, Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He first started his academic career at UiTM in September 1999. He completed his doctorate studies (PhD) in Visual Communication in UiTM, and has a Master’s degree (MA) in Computer Design in Staffordshire University, United Kingdom. He teaches a plethora of undergraduate courses including ‘Computer Graphics, Advertising Design, Packaging Design, Electronic Publishing, Electronic Media and Application. At the postgraduate level, he supervises and lectures candidates from Visual Communication and New Media.
Renowned for his involvement in consultancy work, specifically designing logos and corporate branding development for numerous government bodies and private agencies. His affiliation with MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency) as an academic assessor includes many higher education institutions, mainly in the Art and Design field. 

 

Ghazali Daimin is a senior lecturer at the School of Art & Design, University Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor. He received his PhD in branding thus having vast knowledge and experience on the matter. Graduated UiTM with a Diploma and B.Sc (Hons) in Art & Design, he subsequently obtained his Masters in Computing in Design at Staffordshire University, United Kingdom. His credentials include being appointed as Corporate & Image Coordinator for Corporate Office, UiTM (a position he held for six years), Coordinator for FSSR’s joint-venture programme, and also Fellow at Institut Pemikiran & Kepimpinan Melayu, IMPAK, UiTM. He has actively participated in the field of research and publishing at UiTM. He has written several books, writing columns for local newspapers, and joined various paperwork presentation programmes be it at the national or international level. He is also a panel assessor for MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency), responsible for monitoring the standard curriculum of Universities in Malaysia. He has also partaken in a number of R&D programmes done by UiTM. In 2000, he has given the task of designing the Selangor State Awards Medal by His Royal Highness, one of his biggest achievements to date.

 

Ruslan A. Rahim earned his stripes in the Malaysian advertising industry during the mid-80s. A stint as the sole Graphic Designer in Proton’s Research & Development Department saw him finally pursuing and obtaining his Masters (MSc Communications) at the renowned Pratt Institute, New York City, United States of America. It was here that he honed his skills in New Media encompassing Computer Graphics and Animation. He lectured at the Department of Graphic Design & Digital Media, Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). A shift in his academic outlook brought about a deep commitment towards the exploration of design in the realm of the then-burgeoning World Wide Web. This took him to embark on his doctoral research on interface design for dyslexia at the University of Brighton, East Sussex, the United Kingdom till the new millennium.
