PROFESSIONAL TOURIST GUIDE COURSE
The Tourist Guide Course is tailored for individuals interested to become Licensed Tourist Guides under the purview of Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC). The Licensed Tourist Guide course is a short course conducted part time or full time that may take approximately 6 months to complete. Class will be conducted at our Academy located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
This course is open to SPM School Leavers, Corporate Employees, Unemployed, Single Mothers, Fresh Graduates and Retirees (Pesara).
The course modules is designed in accordance of National Occupational Skill Standards (NOSS) that will provide the participants to acquire the essential skills and competencies to lead a small or group of tourist efficiently. This course will help candidate to maximize your career opportunities in the tourism industry, at the same time meet the expectations and requirements of the tourism industry.
The Tourist Guide Modules will be conducted by highly qualified subject matter expert with more than 10 years Tour Guide experience certified as Vocational Training Officers (VTO). Courses will be conducted either in English or Bahasa Malaysia in accordance to National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS). Our commitment is to ensure each participant succeed qualify as Tour Guides while not compromising the quality of our students graduating as Professional Guides.
Participants will be required to undergo theory and practical examination set Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC). Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded the following:
- Certificate of Competency awarded by GLM Hospitality and Tourism Academy;
- Sijil Kemahiran (Malaysian Skills Certificate) awarded by Department of Skills Development (DSD);
- Tourist Guide License awarded by Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC).

The minimum requirement for registration of this course is as below:
- Malaysian citizen;
- SPM and above (6 Subjects passes including BM);
- Diploma or Degree (Recognized by MOE), or
- Minimum 5 years working experience in the tourism industry;
- Must be in good health and physically fit to work;
- Good medical records;
- Good personality ( warm and friendly);
- Minimum registration age: 18 years old;
- Retirees are encouraged to apply ;
- SPM students waiting for results are encouraged to apply.
