A Compilation of Poems, Short Stories and Essays
Poems, short stories and essays are normally used as text to teach reading comprehension and literature. The three genres are also used as examples to teach university and school students to write in ESL. The poems, short stories and essays in this book is suitable for these purposes. The stories written in this book have local places in Malaysia as their background setting. This will encourage university and school students to write in ESL by using own background.
Instructor Biography
Normah Othman is a lecturer in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) at the Faculty of Language, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. She had experience teaching English as Second Language (ESL) at primary and secondary schools from 1978 to 2000 before she joined UPSI in 2000. His first book written in the Malay language, which was published in 1997 was a biography novel entitled "Hashim Yaacob - Mutiara Batu Hitam".
