This practical guide provides structured learning outcomes that can be used as a main resource in anatomy laboratory session especially for undergraduate medical, dental and health sciences students. Histological features and concise key point in gross anatomy are concisely described to serves as a guide to facilitate students during their laboratory sessions. It is design as a simple and user friendly guide to ensure students achieve the fundamental learning outcomes. It also can be used to help students practice answering questions in examination and acts as complimentary resource for any available anatomy textbooks or atlases.


Instructor Biography

Dr. Haszianaliza Haslan is a senior lecturer in Anatomy Department, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM. She graduated from medical school, USM in 2007 and obtained her Master of Science (Anatomy) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2015. She has experience in teaching anatomy for more than five years. She has passion in innovation in teaching and learning especially in anatomy subject. She believes teaching and learning can create a remarkable journey in a students’ life which can be both enjoyable and valuable.

Dr. Choy Ker Woon is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Sungai Buloh Campus where she has been a faculty member since 2019. Dr. Choy Ker Woon completed her PhD in University Malaya (UM), Master of Medical Science (Anatomy) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and undergraduate studies in UKM.

Dr Muhammad Fairuz has been passionate in anatomy since his undergraduate study in medicine. He was presented with Edward Gurr’s Award in 2004 for his distinction in Anatomy and Histology from University College Cork Ireland. He later obtained his Master Degree in Medical Science (Anatomy) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2016 and currently pursuing his PhD in Universiti Teknologi MARA. His area of research interest includes the study of cancer and natural products as well as innovation in teaching. He was given the title of Young Researcher Award in the International Conference of Advanced Medical Science in 2014.

Dr. Nurul Hannim Zaidun received her degree in medicine (MBBS) at Faculty of Medicine (UM) in 2008. Afterwards, she did her housemanship training in Hospital Putrajaya for two years until year 2010. Then she worked as medical officer at Hospital Temerloh, Hospital Sungai Buloh and Insitute for Health Management under Ministry of Health until year 2015. She joined Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA as trainee lecturer in Anatomy to pursue her interest in teaching and research. She completed her Msc (Medicine) at UiTM and currently planning her PhD journey in Forensic Medicine.

Dr. Nurul Raudzah Adib Ridzuan is a senior lecturer in Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Her first degree was Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2005 and she joined UiTM in 2006. She continued her Masters of Science (MSc Anatomy) in 2007 and completed in 2009. She involved in teaching Anatomy subject for undergraduate and postgraduate students and also in research. She continued Doctor of Philosophy (Anatomy) degree in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and obtained the degree in 2019. Currently, she is actively involved in teaching,supervising and writing articles and book.

Dr. Syed Baharom is a senior lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM. He graduated with MBBS from IMU in 2003 and obtained his Master in MedicalScience from University of Malaya (UM) in 2009.
