My lntegrated Reading Companion is indeed a comprehensive companion for intermediate learners of English. The fundamental focus of this book is to help learners of English to improve their reading skills. This book offers insights and a step-by-step approach by presenting learning items in easy language to ease comprehension of the content. The sequential arrangement of the book is able to assist learners to become effective readers by completing exercises from relatively easy to difficult tasks. There are also various language activities in each chapter that reinforces their reading skills. The grammar sections complement the learning of grammatical items in other language courses. The highlight of the book is reflective reading whereby students respond to stories written in the context of students' life. This book is best used with Mylntegrated Writing Companion in preparation for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).


Instructor Biography

Xavier Thayalan (Associate Professor Dr) has taught both at school and tertiary levels for more than 30 years. He is the main author for Resume Kit for Graduates and Interview Kit for Graduates, MyEnglish Checkpoint and Mylntegrated Writing Companion. He has also published various articles on discourse analysis and online communication. He is currently attached to the Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Pilah campus.

Alice Shanthi (Dr) has more than 24 years of teaching experience. She has co-authored Resume Kit for Graduates and Interview Kit for Graduates, MyEnglish Checkpoint and Mylntegrated Writing Companion. She has also conducted various research on online discourse and interaction. She is currently attached to the Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Pilah campus. 

Jane Xavierine is currently an English lecturer at Inti International University, Nilai. She graduated with MA (Linguistics), University of Malaya and has taught English at secondary and tertiary levels. She has co-authored Mylntegrated Writing Companion. Her research interest includes computer-mediated discussion and online communication ethics. 

Norfazlika Abd Karim is currently a senior lecturer of English at UiTM Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Pilah campus. She did her undergraduate studies in English language and literature and completed graduate studies in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at International Islamic University Malaysia. Her areas of interest included - but are not limited - to second language acquisition (SLA), sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics. 

Lim Teck Heng is currently a senior lecturer at Akademi Pengajian Bahasa UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang. His current areas of interest include blended learning, e-learning, and mobile learning. He is also into the use of online tools and applications with regards to second/foreign language teaching and learning.
