Safety standards are designed to reduce to an acceptable level the risks inherent in the use of dangerous materials and potentially dangerous procedures or practices. All lecture halls, classrooms, or laboratories can be inherently dangerous places, and the attitudes and actions of users can determine their safety, colleagues, and ultimately that of the community. This safety and health training module for engineering programme is an engineering-oriented module on safety and health, which helps to convey the importance of these issues in a concise package in line with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994. The materials herein are intended and structured for engineering students. There are seven sub-modules related to safety and health issues presented in this book. It is hoped that this book can be a good source of reference for the end-user in identifying hazards, assessing the risk, and controlling the hazards.
