AR-RAHHĀLATT 1: FOUNDATION ARABIC FOR TOURISM 1
Ar-Rahhälatt 1: Foundation Arabic for Tourism 1 is a beginner-friendly textbook designed to introduce non-native learners to essential Arabic communication skills within the context of tourism. It is tailored for students, tour guides, hospitality staff, and anyone engaging with Arabic-speaking travellers.
The book is structured around real-life travel and service scenarios, including airports, hotels, historical sites, shopping areas, and tourist destinations. Each unit integrates practical vocabulary, situational dialogues, grammar notes, and pronunciation support to build confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Learners are guided through functional phrases and sentence patterns that can be directly applied in tourism-related interactions.
A key feature of the book is its cultural insights, which not only teach the language but also highlight the etiquette and practices of Arabic-speaking visitors. This dual focus ensures learners develop both linguistic ability and cultural awareness.
By combining modern teaching strategies with hands-on activities, this publicaion equips learners to handle conversations such as welcoming tourists, offering services, guiding visitors at attractions, assisting with shopping, and giving travel directions. The overall goal is to bridge communication gaps in Malaysia's tourism industry and beyond, empowering learners to become effective, confident, and culturally sensitive communicators.
Ultimately, this book positions the learner as an ar-rahhal; a traveller equipped not only with words but with understanding, ready to foster meaningful connections in a globalised tourism environment.
