Malaysian Public Administration for Beginners
As an introductory work to Public Administration, this book is written to cater the needs of students of Public Administration. Each chapter has a specific structure, topic, and theme of the subject. With Malaysia making up the focal point of reference, case studies and examples, this book provides an in-depth discussion on the Government Agency, Bureaucracy, Public Organization, State-Federal Relations, Local Government, Administrative Reforms, Personnel Administration, Ethics in Public Administration, Public Finance and Public Policy. In addition, this book is arranged in such a way that one should be able to compare the structural components of public administration in Malaysia and those of other countries. In doing so, it allows one to identify the functions of public administration in Malaysia. This is important as it develop one's skills to understand, comprehend and discuss the background and foreground of the issues and challenges of public administration in Malaysia as a whole.
Instructor Biography
ASMIDAR LOKMAN is a lecturer of Universiti Teknologi MARA since 1997, and is now based in Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies. She earns a Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences (Political Science) from International Islamic University Malaysia, a Master's in public administration from University of Liverpool and a PhD in Government and Politics from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
AHMAD FAIZ YAAKOB currently serves at UiTM Seremban as a senior lecturer. His bachelor and master's degrees are from International Islamic University Malaysia in Humanities, (Political Science). He obtains his doctorate degree in Public Administration from UKM. His career started in International Graduate Studies, Cheras, then in IIU Matriculation Center, Kuala Lumpur. Areas of expertise are public management, administrative reform, and political science. He current writings include "Accountability from the Perspective Of Malaysian Governance" (2009) and "New Public Management and Politicization: A Study of Public Administrators of Malaysia (2019).
SHAHIDAH ABDUL RAZAK is a lecturer in Political Science and has served for 10 years in UiTM. Currently serving the Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Seremban Campus, Negeri Sembilan. She is a graduate of bachelor's degree and master's in Political Science from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Her interest is in studies of current politics, administration, and international studies. She has been a co-author in several articles such as "Post-Authoritarian Parliamentary Behavior: A Preliminary Survey in Malaysian Politics".
FARAH ADILLA AB RAHMAN is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Seremban 3. She obtained a Doctorate in Public Administration from the Faculty Of Administrative Science and Policy Studies; Policy Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Prior to that, she obtained a master's degree in Public Administration from the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya. Her interest in writing resulted in one chapter in co-written books such as Issues: Implications and Solutions (2020), as well as various articles in the areas of local govern ment, organizational behaviour, public policy, and administrative reform.
