Instructor Biography

PM Dr. Hoe Foo Terng received his Ph.D in Chinese Studies at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. He is an Associate Professor in Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA Penang. His field of expertise is teaching and learning mandarin as a second language. Besides, he is also interested in lexicography and Malaysian Chinese cultural studies.

Dr. Siang Lay Choo (Ph.D) in Applied Linguistics, Universiti Malaya) is a senior lecturer in Akademi Pengajian Bahasa at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Rembau Campus, Negeri Sembilan. She teaches Mandarin as a third language for non-native speakers since 2000.

Chong Peng Hwa is a Mandarin language senior lecturer in the Department of Asian and European Languages at Akademi Pengajian Bahasa, Universiti Teknologi MARA. She is currently teaching Mandarin in both; diploma and degree in Pasir Gudang Campus, UiTM Johor.

Ting Hie Ling, lecturer in Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Sarawak. She holds a Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) from East China Normal University and Bachelor of Arts (Foreign Language) from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her research interest included TCSOL and Linguistics and Applied Linguistics.

Lai Yuh Ying is a Mandarin language lecturer in Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA Malacca. She teaches Mandarin as a foreign language for non-native speakers. Her research interest is focusing on the teaching Mandarin as foreign language, mind and language learning, Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and motivation in learning language.
