15 Common SPM Maths & Add Maths Mistakes 2026
Do you understand the mathematics but still lose marks because of missing working, calculator errors, incorrect rounding, negative signs or incomplete answers?
15 Common SPM Maths & Add Maths Mistakes is a practical exam-preparation guide created for students sitting SPM Mathematics 1449 and Additional Mathematics 3472.
Instead of reteaching every chapter, this e-book focuses on the mistakes that can turn a correct mathematical idea into a lost mark. Each mistake is explained using risky candidate answers, exam-safe corrections, examiner-style analysis and targeted practice.
Inside this 43-page expanded edition, students will receive:
• A 15-question diagnostic test to identify their weakest exam habits
• Wrong-answer versus exam-safe-answer comparisons
• 78 diagnostic, practice and checking questions
• Visual guides for bearings, probability, inequalities and calculus
• Guidance on working, rounding, units, calculator settings and optional questions
• Key mathematical terms in English and Bahasa Melayu
• A personal error tracker, syllabus coverage map and final 10-minute examination checklist
Goals/Objectives
I teach Mathematics and Additional Mathematics for Malaysian primary and secondary school students. My lessons can be conducted in English or Bahasa Melayu and are adapted to each student’s learning level.
My goal is to provide students with sufficient, relevant and easy-to-understand learning resources through practical e-books and supplementary materials. These resources will include concise notes, visual explanations, worked examples, common mistake corrections and exam-focused practice to support students’ learning beyond the classroom.
Instructor Biography
I am a PhD candidate in Applied Mathematics, specialising in Operational Research, and hold a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Universiti Putra Malaysia. I have over 7 years of experience tutoring Mathematics to primary and secondary school students. I've also conducted weekly Algebra tutorials for undergraduate students at UPM.
My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand why a method works instead of simply memorising formulas. I use simple explanations, visual examples, guided practice and step-by-step working to strengthen students’ foundations and confidence. I also identify recurring mistakes and customise lessons according to each student’s ability, examination goals and learning pace.
In addition, my industry experience in data analysis, business intelligence and digital marketing allows me to connect Mathematics with practical, real-world applications. This make the lessons more engaging and helps students understand how mathematical concepts are applied in everyday decisions, business and future careers.
