Asmaul Husna: The Beautiful Names of Allah
Allah SWT says: “Say, ‘Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names.’” (Al-Isra’: 110)
Al-Bukhari, Muslim and at-Tirmidzi narrated a hadith of the Prophet (pbuh), that is: “Abu Hurairah (ra) narrated – he said: ‘Allah has ninety-nine names – one hundred less one – no one memorises them except that he enters Paradise, and He (Allah) is [an] odd [number] and He loves odd.’” (Muslim: 2677)
Now, let us make it a practice (‘amal) that which has been studied by the previous ulama pertaining to the benefits and virtues of al-Asma ul-Husna for which the ulama had conducted many experiments (and through their own experiences) in terms of the meaning, fadilat (virtues) and khasiat (benefits), as a branch of knowledge that gives benefits and virtues to the people of faith. As for the people of faith, they will put them into practice sincerely as one of the methodology in a du’a (supplication). The method of making du’a by mentioning al-Asma ul-Husna has certainly met that which is required by Allah SWT who motivates and recommends the people of faith to recite (mention) His names upon beseeching or imploring Him in their supplications to Allah SWT for something good.
