Fluid Mechanics: Fundamentals and Applications is written to provide a basic introduction for students studying fluid mechanics for the first time. The book consists of eight chapters covering the key concepts and fundamental principles of fluid mechanics. The authors have kept all derivations of principles in their simplest form, and appropriate examples are included to illustrate these concepts. This textbook is suitable for students pursuing diploma and first-year degree courses in civil or mechanical engineering, as well as those enrolled in Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.
Instructor Biography
Fauzi Baharudin (Dr.) is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, with 15 years of teaching and research experience. His expertise lies in water resources and environmental engineering, with extensive experience in the design, management, supervision, and reporting of water and hydrological projects. In addition to his academic role, he is a registered member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).
Nurhidayah Hamzah (Ts. Dr.) is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. Her areas of interest include bioremediation, water and wastewater engineering, and water resources.
Nur Syahiza Zainuddin (Ir. Dr.) is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, specialising in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. She is a certified Professional Engineer, accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia, and is actively involved in research focused on water and environmental sustainability.
Norashikin Ahmad Kamal (Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr.) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Her research expertise specialises in water management, integrated river basin management, and urban water infrastructure systems. She actively engages in research projects at both national and international levels, and her work includes the publication of more than 40 papers in journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. She is a professional member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Institution of Geospatial and Remote Sensing Malaysia (IGRSM), and the International Water Association (IWA).
