Elementary Mathematics for Beginners
Elementary Mathematics for Beginners is a supplementary text for foundations and undergraduate students. It attempts to give you a little idea of the nature of calculus, set theory, and its application in business and economics. This book provides numerous examples and illustrations to reinforce student's understanding and sufficient exercises to prepare students for their examinations.
This book also offers extra exercises and complete solutions that are easy to understand for all categories of students from different backgrounds. Simple explanations for students are written in the sense of making sure the knowledge is transferred and understood successfully.
Instructor Biography
Nor Aishah Md Noh is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Kampus Seremban. She has been teaching various mathematics subjects for pre-diploma, diploma, and degree levels since she joined UiTM in 2009. She obtained her BSc (Hons) (Mathematics) at the University Teknologi MARA and her MSc (Mathematics) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2009. She regularly teaches calculus, linear algebra, real analysis, and abstract algebra.
Norul Fadhilah Ismail is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Kampus Kuala Pilah. She has been teaching various mathematics subjects for pre-diploma, diploma, and degree levels since she joined UiTM in 2009. She obtained her BSc (Hons) (Mathematics) at the University Teknologi MARA and her MSc (Mathematics) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2009 with a specialisation in Financial Mathematics. However, for the past 10 years, her main teaching has been calculus and linear algebra.
Nur Lina Abdullah is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Kampus Seremban. She has been teaching various mathematics subjects at foundation and degree levels since she joined UiTM in 2009. She obtained her BSc. (Hons) (Mathematics) and MSc (Mathematics) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2009. She regularly teaches calculus, real analysis, number theory, and abstract algebra.
Noraimi Azlin Mohd Nordin received her Diploma in Quantitative Sciences from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam in 2004. She holds a Bachelor's Degree (Hons.) in Management Mathematics (2007) and a Master of Science (Research) in Management Mathematics (2009) from the same university. She is currently a PhD Mathematics candidate at Universiti Malaya. Her research interests include operational research, decisive mathematics, logistics, waste management, vehicle routing problems, management mathematics, and many more. Currently, she teaches Calculus and Linear Algebra for undergraduate students, and has been a senior lecturer of the Mathematics Department at UiTM Negeri Sembilan Branch, Seremban Campus, since 2014.
Siti Hidayah Muhad Saleh is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Kampus Seremban. She has been awarded a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and a Master of Science (Applied Mathematics), both from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She was conferred a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She has more than five years of teaching experience in higher learning institutions. She has published several articles in journals and at conferences. Her research interest is in the area of computational mathematics.
