This book is written for accounting students undertaking Integrated Case Study course. This book is unique as it is hybrid in nature taking the form of narrative and informational text integrating various elements aspects from the organisation perspective as well as soft skills from the individual perspective. This book provides a range of situations ranging from company performance, core business activities, investment, financial services, audit and asset management that allow the students to apply their knowledge in the context of a professional accountant at work. This book also encourages students to deal with issues related to governance and leadership.
Saliza Sulaiman, CA (M) (e-mail: [email protected]) is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM Puncak Alam since 2009. She is a member of the Malaysian Association of Accountants (MIA) since 2003 and an associate member of the Malaysian Association of Tax Accountants (M.A.T.A). She was an auditor and tax consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Audit and Business Advisory Services and Corporate Tax divisions from 1997 to 2003. Later, she worked as a Finance Manager at one of the shipping companies from 2003 to 2006 before pursuing a Master’s degree from 2007 to 2009. In July 2009 she started serving as a lecturer at the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM and she is currently pursuing Doctor of Philosophy in Forensic and Criminology at the Accounting Research Institute (ARI), UiTM Shah Alam.
Erlane K Ghani, CA (M), CPA (Australia) (e-mail: [email protected]) is a Professor in Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Fellow Member of CPA (Australia). She obtained her PhD from Massey University, New Zealand. She is actively involved in research activities focusing on accounting education and financial reporting among others. She has assumed the role of Head of Teaching and Learning as well as the Head of System Management and Professional Development in the Institute of Leadership and Quality Management. In addition, she has also been a research fellow with the Accounting Research Institute, UiTM.
Aida Maria Ismail (e-mail: [email protected]) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She obtained her PhD from Victoria University, Melbourne Australia in the field of Corporate Integrity. She has 20 years of teaching experience in the field of Corporate Governance, Business Ethics, Audit and Accounting Information System. She is actively involved with community engagement which relates to social entrepreneurship. At the university, she is part of the greenation@uitm task force responsible in formulating policy and coordinating green initiatives for university sustainability. Her research interest is on Ethics, Governance, Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship.
Ismie Roha Mohamed Jais (e-mail: [email protected]) is an Associate Professor in English Language and Linguistics, Universiti Teknologi MARA. She obtained her PhD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. In addition to language, her involvement of 15 years in her career has given the opportunities to work on Talent Management and Succession Planning in higher education. Her diverse roles as Acting Assistant Vice Chancellor (Leadership), Head of Leadership and Fellow at the Institute of Quality Management UiTM gave her an indepth experience in leadership. She was then seconded as Deputy Director at Akademi Kepimpinan Pendidikan Tinggi (AKEPT), Ministry of Higher Education from 2016 to 2021 to further contribute at the national level in Talent Management.
