The Malaysian Budget 2020  was tabled in Parliament by our honourable Finance Minister on Friday, 11th October 2019. This represents the second budget to be presented by the new Pakatan Harapan administration.

With an appropriate theme of "Shared Prosperty: Sustainable and Inclusive Growth towards High Income Economy", it reflects the government's emphasis towards high-quality growth policy to achieve a developed status and most importantly to ensure that the growth must be equally felt by every segment of the Malaysian society.


Goals/Objectives

Providing fresh insights on the latest 2020 Budget proposal by the government and its significance on the economy, capital market and the general public.

Identifying the essential highlights of the 2020 Budget proposal, recognizing the main tax changes presented in the 2020 Budget proposal and discussing on the Budget 2020 implications on the Malaysian economy and the capital market outlook.

Instructor Biography

Mr Yap Wai Onn is a Chartered Accountant and lecturer from a local university. His lecturing area of expertise covers taxation, corporate reporting, auditing and financial planning.

He has also worked with several established manufacturing companies in the furniture, plastic and pharmaceutical industry. His areas of specialization cover product costing, pricing, management accounting, risks profiling, financial analysis, corporate restructuring and taxation
