One World One God is the first book to bring together material on prayer services, poojas and ethics based on Tamil literature. It is also the first book to include a comprehensive set of questions and answers on topics of interest to individuals and groups who follow Saivite and/or Vaishnavite traditions in their daily prayers and/or religious observances. The book is divided into sections on: formats of prayer services, religious festivals, Saivism, Vaishnavism and Ethics.
The book caters for those who have little or no background, on the topics covered by providing introductions. The knowledgeable reader will find food for thought in the various interpretations given by the author. The book also gives the meanings of several Tamil words used in the context of religion. Furthermore the system of English Transliteration chosen should help the reader to pronounce the Tamil words correctly.
The author was a founder member of the Isipingo Hills Arutpa Khazagam, ex Chairman and ex Trustee of the Dravida Society of South Africa and is a patron of the Verulam Kalay Khazagam which he helped to establish. He made a special effort to improve his knowledge of Tamil by writing the exams in Tamil 1, 2 and 3 at the University of Durban Westville where he studied under Saiva Pulavar K C Gounden.
